April Ripped Person – Yami

Dec 10, 2024 12:41 pm - 12:41 pm

I was amazed to hear that I was chosen as the Ripped Person of the Month! I am originally from Panama, and I have lived in Philadelphia for approximately 17 years. My fitness journey with RippedPHL began in 2018 when I was looking for a challenging workout class that would push me harder than the home workout programs. I was looking for a physical activity that could help me relieve stress, provide me with more energy, and keep me active, consistent, and disciplined.

I still remember like it was yesterday, my 1st day at RippedPhl with Katie. I almost threw up and I almost passed out (I am not joking). The workout routine was challenging but not difficult to follow. Katie made the training routine so much fun because she made the class feel like you are in a football game as the player, and she is the crowd cheering at you! She has great energy, and it is contagious, which makes you feel good and keeps you going while lifting weights or running in the treads.

I find all the trainers at RippedPHL to be incredibly welcoming, and each of them brings their unique personality to the class. What I appreciate most about their classes is that they use positive reinforcement to motivate you to step out of your comfort zone and push yourself to do one more rep. Special shoutouts to Danielle, Emma, Anna, Natalie, West, and Malik for their encouragement during the classes.

Over the years, incorporating strength training and weightlifting into my fitness routine has significantly improved my overall strength. I am now capable of lifting heavier weights and performing more challenging exercises with ease. Training has not only helped me physically, but it has also boosted my confidence and mental well-being. I feel more energized and motivated to push myself every day.

I have completed 555 classes, but I would have taken more if I had not taken breaks for two surgeries, back pain, and shin splits. Skipping workouts often makes me feel frustrated, but I have learned to listen to my body and allow rest for the next training session 🙂

I am grateful for the positive impact that RippedPHL has had on my life, and I am excited to continue on this fitness journey with them.
