September Ripped Person – Dave

Hi I’m Dave! September is my year anniversary with RippedPHL and I am a regular on weekdays in class. I have always been fairly active person; but quickly realized after moving into the city I wasn’t going to have access to floor space for video programs and body resistance, so I adopted a dog and started googling HIIT workouts and I’m so lucky to have found RippedPHL.

Originally, I planned to try a few different gyms in the city but took one class and knew Ripped was it! I have always been intimidated by floor machines, bar weights, and general gym culture so I really appreciated both the low light atmosphere and encouragement to overachieve from class instructors.

Outside of class I really love to cook, especially trying different cultural recipes and push my tiny kitchen to it’s limits. My dog is probably my biggest defining feature, Chewie and I love spending time at Seger Dog Park where he can yell at me for not giving him enough attention or throwing the ball the way he likes. He’s a doodle so they’re always there to judge you.

I’m very proud of how I have transformed my body in the past year, (my shoulders have never been this broad). I started on the lightest under bench weights last year and am super proud to grab some of the heaviest dumbbells in the room now! I love RippedPHL and I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful place to grow!
